The Conservation Biology Institute has published an important report on maintaining key linkages across the US–Baja California border. EHL will help implement this initiative.

The Peninsular Range, with the coastal sage scrub ecosystem on the western flanks, runs continuously between the US and Mexico. Significant barriers to connectivity, like Interstate 8, already exist.  Development on both sides of the border – from estate lots to agricultural conversion – presents unique challenges that only international teamwork can meet. Pronatura and The Nature Conservancy are key partners in this vital conservation effort.

EHL will work in several ways to protect this threatened ecosystem: as we participate in the San Diego “2020” General Plan update process, as we review and comment upon proposed development projects, and as we advise land acquisition programs.
