Los Angeles County continues to lead the way to sustainable land use with a combination of strategic density increases and decreases.

With EHL support, the County adopted a new plan for the East San Gabriel Valley that shifts growth away from the Puente-Chino Hills wildlife corridor into transit-friendly locations. Wildlife movement between the Santa Ana Mountains, Chino Hills State Park, and Riverside County is now much more secure. The action protects a County-adopted Significant Ecological Area and reduces fire risk. EHL commends the Los Angeles County Dept. of Regional Planning and Board of Supervisors.

Leading the multi-decade effort to protect Puente-Chino Hills wildlife corridor is Hills for Everyone, a grassroots conservation group, and the Puente Hills Habitat Preservation Authority, consisting of local government agencies.
