EHL testified again before the Coastal Commission on the plight of the western snowy plover.
This endangered beach-nesting bird is hammered by human recreation and by dogs irresponsibly let loose on the beach. Most recently, EHL was part of a group criticizing the City of Newport Beach’s intransigence in not producing an adequate plan for the plover, as required by the Coastal Commission. In April, we asked the Commission to take needed enforcement action.
EHL submitted comments on the latest iteration of Los Angeles County’s Climate Action Plan. We were pleased that targets for habitat protection to store carbon were significantly increased, as we had recommended in earlier comments.
