The Earth Discovery Institute, a program of EHL in San Diego County, is
seeking volunteer docents to guide students in environmental education
at the Crestridge Ecological Reserve.
This program is rooted in the belief that young people and the natural
environment need each other to thrive. The Earth Discovery Institute
prepares these upcoming generations of leaders.
In the past 2 years, 3,000 students from 4th-12th grade have visited the
Reserve as part of a cutting-edge effort that meets curriculum
standards for each grade level through outdoor, hands-on activities.
Through activities such as native plant restoration and sustainable
building construction, they learn the importance of giving to the
environment and the community.
Volunteer docents are needed to serve as instructors for the students.
An ongoing time commitment of 4 hours per week is required. Training
will be provided. Contact Cathy Chadwick at 619-749-5767 or
